Welcome To 2020-21 Season!

Welcome to another new season with Send United!

It’s fair to say that the 2019/20 season didn’t finish in the way any of us would have expected or wished for. The Covid19 pandemic has obviously affected all aspects of most people’s lives over the past six months or so; the impact on football being one of the least important. All of us at Send Utd hope that you are all safe and well. Let’s all hope that we are through the worst of the effects and that life can slowly return to some form of normality.

With that in mind, I would like to advise you that we have taken a decision to reduce our subscription rates for membership this year. We are aware that many families have been hit financially by the crisis and that, as a club that values the community that we represent, it is important that we try and assist our members in some small way during these difficult times. We obviously still have to cover all of the running costs of the club and this means that there is a limit to how much we can help.

As a result, we have taken the decision, for this new season only, to reduce our usual subscriptions rates to £100 per child and £75 per sibling. Training-only membership (this includes all players in the new Under-6s team) will be £50.

On a more cheerful note, I’m pleased to report that all of our existing teams will be returning for the 2020/21 season. The Warhawks will now be managed by Steve Woolhouse as Lisa Duchnowski has stepped down from the role. Lisa managed the Warhawks for a number of years and continued even after her own son left
the team. I would like to thank Lisa for all her efforts and time that she put into the team and I’m sure you will all join me in wishing her the very best for the future. I would also like to thank Steve for stepping into the role and ensuring that the Warhawks have the opportunity to carry on and grow on their existing successes.
Perhaps even more excitingly, I’m delighted to announce that we have a brand new Under 6s team starting at Send Utd this year under the management of Adam Price. Adam has strong experience of running teams previously and no doubt his knowledge will prove invaluable to the latest generation of players to come through the club.

Welcome aboard to Adam and the Tornadoes!

Best of luck to all of our teams and let’s hope for a fun and exciting season.

IMPORTANT – Corona Virus Update

Following an announcement today by the Surrey Primary League, there will be no fixtures played in the league until further notice due to concerns over the spread of the Covid19 virus.

The SPL are monitoring the situation and will advise in due course when fixtures can start again.

Training sessions will continue, subject to each manager’s discretion , but we would ask that if you have the slightest doubt over the health of your child or close family members then please do not take any risks. Similarly, if you have concerns over your child’s (or your own) health, please do not feel compelled to make your child attend these training sessions.

We will advise further once we know more. The most important thing is that everyone stays safe and well.

Send Utd invited to Woking FC

We’re really excited to announce that that Send United FC has been invited to Woking FC on Saturday 22nd February 2020 as the highlighted local club in the National League game v Stockport.

There will be opportunities for some of the children to be ball boy/girls, mascots, guards of honour and participate in a backstage meet and greet with the players and managers.

Would all parents please speak to their respective managers for more information about the day.

2019-2020 Season

Yet another season for Send United FC and we’re delighted to be fielding teams at 4 separate age groups again within the Surrey Primary League.

The Spitfires (U10), Warhawks (U9) and Hurricanes (U8) all progress from last year and continue their successes at their respective levels. We welcome the Whirlwinds (7) to competitive football this season – we all wish them lots of goals and lots of fun.

Matches will be held primarily at Send Rec this season although some may still take place at the pitch behind Send Primary School if there are kick-off clashes or issues with the play-ability of the pitches at Send Rec.
