Welcome to another new season with Send United!
It’s fair to say that the 2019/20 season didn’t finish in the way any of us would have expected or wished for. The Covid19 pandemic has obviously affected all aspects of most people’s lives over the past six months or so; the impact on football being one of the least important. All of us at Send Utd hope that you are all safe and well. Let’s all hope that we are through the worst of the effects and that life can slowly return to some form of normality.
With that in mind, I would like to advise you that we have taken a decision to reduce our subscription rates for membership this year. We are aware that many families have been hit financially by the crisis and that, as a club that values the community that we represent, it is important that we try and assist our members in some small way during these difficult times. We obviously still have to cover all of the running costs of the club and this means that there is a limit to how much we can help.
As a result, we have taken the decision, for this new season only, to reduce our usual subscriptions rates to £100 per child and £75 per sibling. Training-only membership (this includes all players in the new Under-6s team) will be £50.
On a more cheerful note, I’m pleased to report that all of our existing teams will be returning for the 2020/21 season. The Warhawks will now be managed by Steve Woolhouse as Lisa Duchnowski has stepped down from the role. Lisa managed the Warhawks for a number of years and continued even after her own son left
the team. I would like to thank Lisa for all her efforts and time that she put into the team and I’m sure you will all join me in wishing her the very best for the future. I would also like to thank Steve for stepping into the role and ensuring that the Warhawks have the opportunity to carry on and grow on their existing successes.
Perhaps even more excitingly, I’m delighted to announce that we have a brand new Under 6s team starting at Send Utd this year under the management of Adam Price. Adam has strong experience of running teams previously and no doubt his knowledge will prove invaluable to the latest generation of players to come through the club.
Welcome aboard to Adam and the Tornadoes!
Best of luck to all of our teams and let’s hope for a fun and exciting season.
